Biography
Hajiya Fatima Binta Mohammad obtained her first degree in Arts Education, and Political Science from Bayero University, Kano. She started her work career as a class room teacher at Government College, Sharada, Kano from 1983-1988.
Hajiya Binta has maintained a steady rise in the teaching profession. From 1988-1989, she was at Government Girls College, Dala. She became the Vice Principal, St Louis Secondary School, Kano after she left Women Teachers College, as a Class room teacher. Her determination and zeal in her career as a teacher saw her rise to the position of the Principal, Maryam Abacha Govt Girls Secondary School, Kano.
In order to wheel and sharpen her career in a more challenging sector other than education and in some public sector, Hajiya Binta, further obtained a Master’s Degree in Public Policy Administration at Bayero University, Kano. She has also attended the prestigious Administrative Staff College Of Nigeria (ASCON) Badagary.
Since joining the Ivory Tower (University) she has risen from Academic Secretary to become the Registrar of the University. This is a rare feat that is very commendable.
She has attended so many courses and conferences which has helped give shape to her administrative skills competence.
In the area of community service, Hajiya is a Patron of Masama Development Association, Nasarawa Local Government in Kano State where she has worked hard to lift up her society.
As a result of due diligence in her career and service to her mother land, Hajiya Binta is a recipient of several awards including Merit awards. Amongst these are Sir, Ahmadu Bello Platinum Award (ANNS 2018). Award of Excellence in Public Administration-Institute of Industrialists and Corporate Administration, Award of Education Developer of our time – Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria amongst so many.
As a tacit achiever, Hajiya Binta today stands tall amongst her equals and is a member of the Board of Directors, NIGCOMSAT Ltd.
She is happily married with children and widely travelled.
